Hadrat Abdullah (R.A) narrated, Rasulullah (S.A.W) who was Sadiq and Masduq (thruthful) said to us, “Each one of you collects in the womb of his mother for forty days. He then remains like this as a clot of blood for another forty days, in the same manner. He then takes the form of a piece of flesh, after which Allah Ta’ala dispatches an angel who is charged with recording for things, his actions, his sustenance, his lifespan and whether he will be a good person or a wretched.
The Sahaba lay siege on Taif 40 nights then they returned from the path of Allah
Anas ibne Malik (R.A) narrated we conquered Makkah and then we went on an expedition to Hunain. The Polytheists (Mushrikoon) came, forming themselves into the best rows that I have seen. They first formed the rows of cavalry (horses), then those of infantry, and then those of women behind them. Then there were formed the rows of sheep and goats and then of other animals. We were also in large numbers, and our (number) had reached six thousand and on one side Khalid ibne Waleed was in charge of the cavalry, and our horses at once turned back from our rear. And we could hardly hold when our horses were exposed, and the Bedouins and the people whom we knew took to their heels. (seeing this) Rasulullah (S.A.W) called thus: Oh Muhajireen, O Muhajireen, he then said O Ansar, O Ansar. (Anas said: this hadith is transmitted by a group of eminent persons) We said: Labbaik oh Messenger of Allah. Rasulullah (S.A.W) then advanced and he (Anas (A.S)) said: By Allah we had yet not reached them when Allah Ta’ala defeated them. We took possession of the wealth and we then marched towards Ta’if, and we besieged them for forty nights, then we came back to Makkah and settled down. He said: The messenger of Allah (S.A.W) began to bestow a hundred camels upon each individual.

2 months in an Islamic environment
Malek narrated; from the son of Shihab (may Allah be pleased with them) that it reached him that there were women during the days of the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who embraced Islam, while they were in their lands, without emigrating. Their husbands at that time, when they were Muslims, were still infidels. Some of these women the daughter of Al-Walid ben Al-Muguira. She was the wife of Safwan den Umaiyya. She embrased Islam on the day of the conquest (of Mecca). Her husband Safwan ben Umaiyya escaped from Islam. The Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah may be upon on him) had sent to him his cousin Wahb ben Umair with the cloak of the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), as a safe conduct for Safwan ben Umaiyya. The Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called him to embrace Islam and asked him to come to him. If he is pleased with the matter to accept it, otherwise he would have a respite for two months.
When Safwan came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with his cloak, he called him over the heads of the people. He said: O’ Muhammad: that this Wahb be Umair had come to me with your cloak and he claimed that you called me to come to you. If I was pleased with the matter I should accept it and if not, you would give me respite for two months. The Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon you) said: Come down Aba Wahb. The man said: No, by Allah (the Exalted and Almighty) I will not come down until you make it clear to me. The Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: But you will have a respite for 4 months. The Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went towards Hawazin at Hunain. He sent to Safwan ben Umaiyyah to borrow some equipment and arms that he said: Willingly or unwillingly? He said: But willingly. Then he lent him the equipment and arms which he had. After Safwan came out with the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon you) when he was still an infidel. He attended the battles of Hunain and At-Ataif, while he was an infidel, and his wife was a Muslim. The Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon you) did not separate between him and his wife. Until Safwan embraced Islam and his women settled with him with that marriage.
